Companies now have the immense challenge in attempting to reduce the impact that their business has on the environment. This is becoming an ever increasing task in the workplace. By making simple changes to what products you buy and where you buy them you can make great strides to achieving this and it is more imperative to commence initiatives now, than in the future.

At Smith & Coburn Ltd, we are committed to reducing our own impact on the environment and therefore assist customers in making the right choice when purchasing their products.

Understanding and being aware when reducing a company’s carbon footprint, we can provide a host of effective and environmentally sensitive cleaning products.

Nominated suppliers who can provide the very best and cost effective product solution for the job are critical to the success of our business and are chosen after research, and from there successful partnerships are built together. 

All chemical products have a COSHH and health and safety data sheet and through monitoring and consistently reviewing our own activities in the workplace, ensures our own environmental performance and environmental policy is kept up to date.

We are committed to reducing our company’s environmental impact specifically in these areas:

Waste
All packaging and office rubbish is recycled and preferably reduced where possible.

Energy
All equipment in the office and warehouse is switched off where possible when not in use and computer monitors are put onto screen saver mode. Double-sided printing is used when printing all documents and lights are switched off in unoccupied areas with use of energy efficient light bulbs encouraged and used where possible.

CO2
Customers are encouraged to accept fewer deliveries and suggestions on how to accomplish this are made and agreed in partnership. By effectively planning orders with customers and encouraging staff car sharing the amount of journeys company vehicles make is limited.
