Ecover to 'feel good' at festivals this summer

Eco-friendly cleaning brand Ecover has announced that it is to embark on live marketing activity at major family-focussed festivals this summer.

As part of its 'Feel Good' campaign, launched with its new TV ad which we premiered earlier this month, the marketing activity is set to reinforce Ecover's sustainable credentials.

The £4m campaign enables Ecover to take on the cleaning giants in the industry, the fun factor combined with the message that Ecover is kind to the home, family and environment.

Looking forward to 2012.... well some of us are!

Its official..... today is by all accounts the worst day of the year! Experts are telling us that the UK population will be at its lowest today with the future looking bleak. Credit card bills to pay, possible redundancies......
Not so at Smith & Coburn. Even though times are tough, the team has been working harder than even to ensure that we pay every attention to our customers’ needs. During these tough times it is even more imperative to ensure that our service delivery is at the best it has ever been.

EU prepares to open REACH 'can of worms'

The European Commission is now planning a full review of the controversial REACH regulation, which for the first time requires chemical manufacturers to justify that their products are safe for consumers.
For many chemical manufacturers that are producing harmful products, very often under 'own label' they do not take in to consideration the harmful effects that these could be having on a cleaning operative, and this could open a can of worms for them and become a potential disaster.

Premier Cottages Conference

I've just returned from the Premier Cottages conference earlier today and although it's early days, I feel that this time we have managed to understand the consumer better, which I hope should attract them to buy from Smith & Coburn in the future.
I was supported by both Ecover and Metsa Tissue this year, which enabled us to answer questions on sustainability, cost and quality from many of the Premier Cottages members.

Metsa Tissue support Premier Cottages

As a company, Metsä Tissue is absolutely committed to sustainable forest management - the basis of which is that harvesting must not exceed growth, ensuring the preservation of bio-diversity and the protection of endangered species.

Smith & Coburn expands with Premier Cottages

I am delighted to announce that for the second year running, Smith & Coburn Ltd will be attending the Premier Cottages Members Benefit Showcase in Stafford.

Time Flies.....

Smith & Coburn have just completed our third year and as the saying goes 'time flies when you're having fun' we can't believe how quickly the time has passed!
We started trading in June 2008 and the company has gone form strength to strength, growing steadily year-on-year to establish ourselves as a prominent distributor in the supply of cleaning and hygiene products.

On board with The Green Tourism Business Scheme

Last week was Green Awareness Week, which is designed to encourage companies to promote the awareness of a sustainable business and it’s benefits. I spent the week working with many organisations, and one in particular is The Green Tourism Business Scheme.
This is a fast growing organisation which is beggining to attract a lot of publicity. Their patron is Tony Juniper, who is the campaigner, writer, sustainability adviser and a well-known British environmentalist. They are attracting many businesses, who now wish to be graded by GTBS in order to promote their business as being green.

How to Beat the Tough Times?

For many of us the first information we receive each day is the breakfast news. In these tough times we are constantly reminded about the rising price of fuel, the current rate of inflation being higher than the Government target, the rising cost of raw materials....it goes on. What a way to start the day!

Cheap isn't always cheerful!

If you are in charge of buying the washroom products for your company or building, given the current economic climate you might be forgiven for choosing the cheapest box of handtowels or toilet tissue, next time you make your purchase. However, by just plumping for the cheapest quality or case price you could find yourself out of pocket. Why?
